Auto Run
MageProxy's "Auto Run" feature is the easiest and most effective way to use our service. It fully automates the process of recording and optimizing your site's JavaScript, so you can set it and forget it. Once enabled, our background services handle everything for you, ensuring your site is always running at its best.
How It Works
When you enable Auto Run, MageProxy immediately creates a new recording for each of your store views. Here’s what happens next:
- Recording: The service starts tracking your website's traffic to see which JavaScript files are being used.
- Fast First Optimization: Within minutes, as soon as the first JavaScript dependencies are detected, Auto Run creates and deploys an initial optimization. This ensures you start seeing performance benefits almost immediately.
- Progressive Improvement: Auto Run doesn’t stop there. It continuously monitors your site's traffic. When it discovers new JavaScript files that weren't included in the last optimization, it automatically creates a new, more complete optimization to replace the previous one.
This process of progressive improvement means your site's performance gets better over time as more pages are visited and more data is gathered.
While Auto Run is enabled, you cannot create manual recordings or optimizations. The entire process is fully automated to prevent any conflicts and ensure smooth operation.
Enabling Auto Run
To enable Auto Run, log in to your Magento admin panel and navigate to System > Tools > mageproxy.io > System Configuration
. Expand the "Auto Run" section and change the Run Mode
from "Manual" to "Auto." Save the configuration, and you're all set!
When you enable Auto Run, all your existing manual recordings and optimizations will be marked as "finished." You will no longer be able to deploy them or create new optimizations from them.
Advanced Configuration
For more control over how Auto Run works, see the Advanced Auto Run Configuration page.
Using Optimization Templates
To customize optimizations created by Auto Run, you'll need to use an Auto Run Template.
